Blood pressure. Easy to monitor – challenging to stabilise. The ambulatory blood pressure monitor is a key piece of equipment in the medical practitioner’s arsenal, but the technology hasn’t changed that much in the past few decades. Vasomedical has taken modern digital technologies and crammed them into a small, easy-to-use blood pressure monitor that provides improved diagnostic capabilities. Glenmed takes a look at the Vasomedical BIOX blood pressure monitor below…

Advanced Monitoring Technology

The bite-size BIOX blood pressure monitor features a full colour LCD display, something previously thought unnecessary on ambulatory blood pressure monitors (ABPMs).

Unlike any other ABPM, true arterial pulses are recorded in real time, and then analysed to provide tabulated numerical blood pressure values.

A digital dual valve provides smooth and even deflation, with the accuracy expected from a system using the auscultatory method.

Convenient Blood Pressure Assessment

The intelligent design of the BIOX blood pressure monitor caters to patient comfort, accommodating a wide range of arm sizes and blood pressure levels.

The easy-to-read and understand colour LED screen sits above three buttons making navigation through the unit’s features effortless. This enables quick analysis, something necessary in the medical industry.

The BIOX is battery powered, running for hours on end using only two ‘AA’ alkaline batteries, and features a battery charge level display feature.

Data Analysis Software

Instead of having to document and track blood pressure readings with paper and pen, the BIOX blood pressure monitor comes with software suited to most computer systems. The program is easy to use and displays readings from the BIOX in waveform, histograms and even visual trend-tables.

Readings are stored on the BIOX unit itself, and these readings can then be transferred via Bluetooth or by removing the SD card and using the added USB SD card reader to transfer the data to a computer or laptop. This allows medical professionals to monitor and analyse patient arterial pulse and blood pressure over extended periods of time.
